Q Who am I?
I am an ordained minister living in Las Vegas, who grew up in the Deep South. In my regular life I am an Executive Coach , a mother and grandmother. I have been doing weddings for many years. I bring wisdom, grace, experience and a touch of holiness to your special day.
Q How can we book you?
You may phone me at 702-240-1866, email me at judy@weddingvowslasvegas.com or tell your wedding planner or event planner to call me. We can check for date availability and time at this point.
Q Should we meet before the wedding?
If you feel that seeing and hearing me on this website is enough, then we can talk by phone to specialize your day. I can then email you samples of vows and you can copy and paste to get exactly what you want. If you would like to meet me, I am more than happy to meet with you.
Q Will you be present at both the rehearsal and the ceremony?
Yes if you would like, there is a small additional charge to attend the rehearsal.
Q Can we write our own vows?
Of course, you write what you’d like, I fill in around what you write.
Q Can you do anything special?
Perhaps you want a Unity Candle ceremony, Sand Ceremony, White Dove or Butterfly Release, to include a step-child or children, or a special reading by a friend or family member….yes to all of this!
Q We are of two different faiths, can you work with this?
Absolutely!
Q We are not religious, is that a problem?
Absolutely not, we will create the ceremony that fits you.
Q What about the license?
You’re not married until Rev. Judy signs the license and it’s been witnessed. The Marriage License Bureau is open daily 8 until midnight and is located downtown at 201 Clark Avenue. (phone 702-671-0600). They require you both to come in and fill out forms. Their fee is $60.00. Bring a picture ID or Passport and your Social Security number. You may also complete a pre-application online at Click Here and when you arrive at the Bureau your time will be much shorter. Rev. Judy will get the license recorded for you after the ceremony.
Q What about commitment ceremonies?
Absolutely! A “domestic partnership” in Nevada is a type of civil contract, which grants domestic partners…the same rights, protections, benefits, obligations and duties as any other civil contract… for information contact the office of the Secretary of State in Carson City, Nevada at 800-992-0900 or at www.nvsos.gov
Q Any advice for couples embarking on a life together?
Yes, I would ask that you both remember that life will get in the way. During these times, endeavor to embrace the all of your partner. We are not our worries, our cranky attitudes, or our negative behaviors. In truth, the person whom you may be angry with or frustrated with in the moment is still that wonderful person you stood with on your wedding day. Look beyond the present moment; reach out to your partner, with love and forgiveness. Overlook things, talk gently and respectfully to find a solution to life’s challenges, be patient with each other and don’t forget to keep the romance in your marriage.
